Some of the most distinctive characteristic of the event are:
  • it is a threefold event: III E100 Roundtable (members), I General Assembly of the IberoAmerican Community for Knowledge Systems (members) and LatinAmerican Forum on Knowledge-based Development (by invitation only)
  • participation is either by membership to one of the above organizations or by direct invitation. Invitations are not transferable.
  • all participants (around 100-150) will be active agents in Knowledge-based Development. The E100 provides a global think-tank, the ICKS provides a network of local practitioners and further guests from government, industry, academy, international organizations and ONGs
  • the three programs will be interwaved, being the Forum the section open to all participants
  • the Forum will consist of three sessions: Sunday Nov. 2, PM: "Knowledge Cities"; Monday Nov. 3, AM: "Knowledge Regions" and PM, "Knowledge Worlds"
  • there will be no "audience" for all participants are expected to engage in high-level dialogue through participative group dynamics (i.e.: World Café)
  • there is no conference fee and each participant will cover her/his travelling and accomodation expenses, although some local services may be offered free or with a discount, depending on sponsorships.
